Lovejoy Mixed-Use Parking Structure

Portland, Oregon

As part of the Lovejoy Mixed-Use Project, a parking structure was sandwiched
between the on-grade retail tenants and the office floors above. The parking
entry location was carefully considered and coordinated with tenant needs and
City requirements. The parking structure occupies 4 floors and accommodates
a total of 380 parking stalls.

The design of the exterior of the parking levels was critical to the
appearance of the building and to satisfy Portland’s Design Review screening requirements.
The solution was the application of translucent panels that appeared opaque
from the outside, but welcomed light into the parking levels to reduce energy
needs. At night, the panels glow from the internal illumination. A series of
stepped metal panels provides variety and interest to the elevation.
